Meg McAllister has over twenty years of public relations and marketing experience, with a reputation built on creativity and strong client and media relationships. A unique internship experience at Rogers & Cowan Public Relations led to her first full-time PR job, handling notable corporate and entertainment clients including Newman’s Own Foods. After Rogers & Cowan, Meg became an account executive with DBA Public Relations, a boutique PR firm specializing in the consumer electronics industry. There she handled a variety of accounts, from programming publicity and promotions for Showtime and The Movie Channel, to informational road tours for TDK Electronics.
Meg spent ten years at a division of Ruder Finn, Inc., quickly rising in the ranks from Senior Publicist to Vice President. Here Meg specialized in publicity and events for high-profile publishing and celebrity clients ranging from John Updike, Leon Uris, and Dean Koontz, to Sophia Loren, Charlton Heston, Suzanne Somers, and Richard Simmons. She also organized brand loyalty campaigns for some of the best-known magazines on newsstands: Ladies Home Journal, People, Consumer Reports and TIME. At Ruder Finn Meg also honed her skills in product launches and celebrity partnerships, working with major pharmaceutical companies and health organizations such as Novartis and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
In 2001 Meg started her own firm focusing on consumer/lifestyle and book publicity, and over the last decade she has continued to expand her services and client base globally using her extensive traditional and social media contacts and industry connections. She is a sought-after media strategist and publishing consultant working with numerous television and film companies such as PBS, TLC, Warner Brothers, and CBS; a varied array of products and companies ranging from Airborne Health to Busch Gardens Entertainment; and most major, niche, and small publishers including HarperCollins, Random House, Thomas Nelson, AMACOM, and Morgan James.
Today Meg splits her time between offices in New York & London, and is hands-on with all company projects. A frequent speaker at public relations and publishing conferences, Meg is a proud member of the CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations), Women in Publishing, and continues to support the Publishers Publicity Association whose Board of Directors she served on from 2000 – 2010.
